I have been travelling Australia for the third time. I LOVE IT!
just had a durian i found in the Daintree. a guy that worked on a farm i went to buy some mangastiens from, hoping also to buy a durian, told me to check out the tree across the road. i love taking pics of fruit growing on the tree. he said they have not been falling as he’s been checking for them everyday.

well, when i got there, i stumbled onto 2 of them, one very small, and one very big
i went back to buy them and he gave me the big one!

this baby was heavy and at $6 a kilo it was extremely nice of him to give it to me, as a reward for my honesty. this was the first durian i opened without cutting myself on its spines and bleeding form it.

i waited for it to start smelling as a signal that it is ready to be eaten.

all i can say is, that the joy of finding a durian in the grass under a durian tree is overwhelming for me and the pleasure of eating this God given treasure is so extreme. this was the tastiest durian ever and the best looking

my desire for this fruit is strong. i went to Cairs markets just a few days prior to this and by chance stumbled onto a durian grower who was selling flowers not durian. he told me all about how to pick a good durian and few stalls up was a lady selling them. i paid $55 for 2 medium sized durians, for my new years party in the Daintree National Park. it was me, God, mosquitos, march flies, the two spikey, smelly wonders and the various inhabitants of the forest. i definitely ate too much of this strange, exciting fruit. the skins perfectly suited the surrounding forest floor as i scattered them around, and tomorrow i will plant the seeds.

i feel so blessed to have had an Australian durian experience without even trying. it just shows me how simply having a desire for something that is true and strong, comes to fruition God answers all of my prayers when He knows i truly want something.
